ABOUT HARPERS FASHIONS - (HARTLEYS AND VINCENT)
Harpers Fashions was founded almost 30 years ago when owner Hartley Vincent opened his first store in Auckland. From those small beginnings the company now owns and operates 18 stores nationwide. Today the name "Hartleys" is synonymous with ladies fashion retailing in New Zealand.
The company is a wholly owned New Zealand family business with both Hartley and his wife Sandi taking a very active part in the day to day running of the business. Their passion for the industry is such that Sandi elects to work most Sunday's in one of their stores. She says this ensures she knows what our customers are looking for and what is working for the New Zealand woman. As Sandi is instrumental in the buying this knowledge has proved invaluable.
Hartleys and Vincent's objective is to take customer service to a new level. Many of our staff have worked in the fashion world for a number of years and this, along with their natural ability, means they are well qualified to offer customers sound and professional styling advice. This is an important aspect of our business as many customers lose their way and confidence as the years progress.
Originally the company traded solely under the Hartleys brand. But in more recent years the company identified a niche for a second retail brand and it was at that time the company opened its first Vincent store. This was in Nuffield Street in Newmarket. The company also has Vincent store in Christchurch. While there is some small cross over of brands in both the Hartleys and Vincent stores the majority of brands are store specific.
Both Hartleys and Vincent stock sizes 10 – 16 (some styles in the Verge range are available in sizes 8 - 18). Their range of styles and labels appeal to age groups from 20 to 60 plus.
